PFEP

October 15, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please review the Citrus ES 2020-2021 Parent and Family Engagement Plan (PFEP) found below.

Mission Statement

To promote a collaborative effort between school and community, so that we may support the development of enriching and diverse pathways of learning for all students to succeed.

We are committed to working jointly with parents and family to develop a plan for activities and workshops which support the standards-based instruction needed for all students to be successful.

Parent Involvement Activities and Communication:

Parents and families are essential in assisting to organize activities which strengthen the bond between school and community. We will host multiple curriculum nights aligned to grade level standards which model instruction strategies for home and school.  Citrus ES will utilize various modalities of communication such as social media, School Messenger, flyers, newsletters, and classroom communication platforms. Citrus ES will host its annual Parental Involvement Planning meeting and subsequent meetings in conjunction with PTA and SAC meeting night to promote maximum participation.  An agenda is provided prior to the meeting as well as a virtual link to the conference.  Parents who become members of SAC are responsible to assist in the planning, reviewing and improvement of the Title 1 program.

Coordination

Citrus Elementary School’s Parent Engagement Liaison (PEL) will assist in the development and integration of parent and family engagement programs and activities throughout the school year. The frequency of events will be no less than once a month and will assist in providing families with strategies on how to support their child’s education on the home front. These activities are developed based on stakeholder input and data based on the school’s needs-assessment. Below is the delineated program and coordination for each school-based program.

Annual Parent Meeting

The annual parent meeting was held on Monday, August 31, 2020 to inform all stakeholders about Citrus Elementary School’s Title 1 Program.

The full PFEP is available upon request in the front office.  If you have any questions, please contact the school.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Walker
